Texturing
is produced by means of controlled short-time electric pulses.
Each pulse melts the roll surface producing a crater. As a result,
a grid of different craters is formed and a texture is created
on the roll surface. This texture can be later transmited to the
steel in the cold rolling process.

The
advantages of texturing in terms of quality are mainly related
to the benefits obtained by steel end users in deep-drawing and
painting processes.
